Lauren-Radley-profile.jpg

Hi there!

I am Lauren Radley and I am a freelance illustrator who also runs my own business creating fun and whimsical prints, stationery and other lovely illustrated goodies…

From the beginning…

Since I was a tiny girl all I would ever do is draw and create. I grew up in Sheffield with my mother who was an artist, and grandparents who were teachers and were always giving me a clipboard and some paper to β€˜go and sit and draw somewhere!’ I did my first craft fair aged ten, making and selling greetings cards for fifty pence with my own hand drawn logo on the back (my Gran bought most of the cards and would give them to me for birthdays until I was in my twenties!).

Education

I graduated from Kingston university in 2009 with a BA(hons) in Illustration and Animation, and have been lucky enough to be working freelance ever since (with a brief stint as a noodle waitress!)

Clients and collaborations

Over the ten years I have been working as an illustrator, I have had the privilege of collaborating with some amazing clients and brands, including a three year project with the National Trust creating regional maps of their properties, Coffee Republic to create murals and branding for their outlets, and many many maps, drawings of food, and other editorial illustrations for a variety of different magazines and companies (take a glance below for a list of clients)

The Shop

Lauren Radley as a shop and brand was born five years ago when I began creating whimsical maps of places and cities I know and love. They received such an amazing response, that it led to the start of a business I now run together with my husband Emile.

After the birth of our daughter Sukie, I was inspired to create bold, colourful and inspirational kids prints and greetings cards, with a strong theme of education, determination and individuality (all of the qualities I believe are so important in raising children!). Soon the range of products grew, and I began putting my heart and soul into creating collections that I hope spread a little bit of love and magic into the lives of people of all ages (not just the littilies!)
